EMPOWER
MOTHERHOOD
The social significance of maternity, motherhood, and the role of parents in the family and in the upbringing of children should be acknowledged. The upbringing of children requires shared responsibility of parents, women and men, and society as a whole. ~Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, 1995.
1. Mothers are the heart and nurturing force of the family and society. Mothers provide the tenderness, understanding, and resilience a thriving society demands. By giving life and nurturing their children, mothers, in cooperation with fathers, become the strength and the foundational sustaining force of humanity. Mothers and fathers each play vital and necessary roles in all societies. Such roles and the reality of the nuclear family must be protected, defended, and supported. 2. Society needs stable families in order to produce self-confident, happy children. Children who are raised by dedicated mothers in a stable family environment benefit all of society. No society can survive nor thrive without the dedication of motherhood and mothers everywhere who understand and take their responsibilities seriously. 3. Motherhood is one of the most important, rewarding, and exciting occupations a woman can engage in. Nonetheless, today in the 21st Century, some societies and governments still discriminate against motherhood by ignoring and rejecting its intrinsic value and irreplaceable influence in creating and sustaining freedom and prosperity. 4. Women in the labour market are too often discriminated against for choosing motherhood. Mothers should be given equal opportunity, consideration, and respect in employment and be provided the proper accommodations when necessary and appropriate. 5. Motherhood greatly benefits women. It uniquely provides women the opportunity to learn various life skills, including but not limited to establishing leadership roles, critical thinking, organizational and management skills, event planning, communication, and various other life skills not provided in the labour market. It further provides a vital feeling of completeness that women need.
WORLDWIDE DECLARATION OF MOTHERS

“Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance”.
Article 25.2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

I. Mothers and their babies deserve the right to life, protection, respect, and honor as important members of society. Legal protections for the rights of children, born and unborn, cannot and should not ever be extricated or separated from the rights of women and mothers. II. Motherhood and dedication to the family demands and deserves social and political recognition. This recognition should come in the form of protecting, defending, and supporting the inalienable rights and importance of motherhood, as well as ensuring legal protection and justice for mothers and children around the world. II. Full dedication to motherhood and the family must be respected and upheld, and not used as a reason to force mothers into the false illusion of social depravity. The resilience of mothers and their skills to simultaneously be mothers, spouses, and workers must be recognized worldwide, as should mothers who, for many reasons, decide to dedicate themselves fully to raising and caring for their children.

Empower Mothers

“The family is the basic unit of society”
(Beijing Platform 1995)
And motherhood is the heart of the family. Mothers must be respected in politics, society, and the home. Societies worldwide must ensure that the innate importance of motherhood be protected, defended, and supported to ensure the continuation of a civil and humane society. Without motherhood, there can be no civil or humane society, as mothers provide an irreplaceable role in its foundation.
